Condition Report

A 1950s 18ct gold ruby and diamond cocktail ring. Of geometric design, the circular-shape ruby, with triangular-shape diamond sides, to the raised shoulders and tapered band. Estimated dimensions of ruby 5.8 by 5.8, by 2.8mms depth. Estimated total diamond weight 0.40ct, I-J colour, SI clarity. French assay marks. Weight 13.5gms.

    Overall condition good. Surface scratches in keeping with general wear. The ruby has a red-pink hue. A large fine surface reaching fractures runs from the girdle edge into the centre of the stone. The US prohibits the importation of items containing rubies or jadeite originating in Burma. For your convenience we have applied this notice to lots which contain rubies or jadeite originating in Burma, or those of indeterminate origin. The diamonds are bright, lively and well matched. Small dark inclusions and fine feathers are visible under 10x magnification. French assay marks to outside of band, lightly rubbed. Ring size M.
