An early 20th century 18ct gold diamond clip. The old, circular, single-cut and square-shape diamond openwork panel, of geometric and curved design, suspended from a later added brilliant-cut diamond surmount. Estimated total diamond weight 4.30cts. French assay marks. Length 4.3cms. Weight 15.4gms.

Purchasing information-
Overall condition good. Minor surface wear and light scratches in keeping with age. Collet and tapered surmount has been later added to the single clip. Some scratches and discolouration to the inside surface of the clip. Diamonds bright and fairly well matched. Principal diamond estimated weight 0.30ct, I-J colour, SI clarity. Assessed within the limits of the mount. Principal diamond has a slight yellow hue, scattered light and dark coloured inclusions visible under magnification. Principal diamond in good condition with nicks to the edge of the table and a kite facet. Individual size of the outer diamonds prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Clarity varies, minor to scattered and large inclusions, some of which are visible to the unaided eye. Diamonds generally in good condition with minor abrasion. Some of the brilliant-cut diamonds are drawing slight yellow hues. Stamped B398.
