Condition Report

A mid 20th century gem-set peacock brooch, the peacock astride a sphere, pave-set with sapphire, ruby, diamond and paste. Numerous paste and gem replacements. Length 10.4cms. Weight 33.2gms.

Purchasing information
    The lot is in fair to poor overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. Replacement fittings, base metal, with slight soft solder visible. Traces of rose-gold colour edges. Numerous replacement gems and replacement paste. Many gems with small chips and losses. Many paste and some gems with significant abrasion. Three gems deficient. The diamonds appear relatively bright and well matched, estimated total diamond spread weight 1ct, which is no indication of the total diamond weight. Individual diamonds too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades. Some diamonds with chips and abrasion.
