A George III pair of silver open salts.

Condition Report

A George III pair of silver open salts, each of pedestal outline with simple reeded borders and gilded interior. Hallmarked London, date letter partly distorted but possibly 1795, maker's marks also very worn but probably reading 'PB' over 'IB' and tentatively attributed to Peter & Jonathan Bateman. Height measures 2 3/8 inches (6 cm), weight 3.81 ozt (118.6 grams).

Purchasing information
    Both salts display general wear including surface scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Would benefit from a polish. Several very deep scratches and nicks to the gilded interiors of both. Some slight dints. The hallmarks and maker's marks are partly worn and distorted.
