Condition Report

ROLEX - a gentleman's Oyster Perpetual Datejust bracelet watch. Circa 1970. Reference 1601, serial 2614666. Signed automatic calibre 1575. Black dial with diamond dot hour markers, date aperture to three. White metal fluted bezel, stainless steel case fitted to a stainless steel Jubilee bracelet with Oysterclasp. 36mm.

Purchasing information
  • Movement is currently functioning, however the minute hand is not sitting parallel and obstructs the second hand's passage, stopping the movement whenever they meet.
  • Movement shows signs of previous intervention, some light tarnishing. Noticeable marks to the automatic work bridge from where the rotor has rubbed against it.
  • Date changes at midnight.
  • Dial has some scratches noticeable under the light when viewed with an eyeglass.
  • Hands have light scratches and marks.
  • Glass has a variety of light scratches.
  • Bezel has light scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear. Some rubbing to the detail.
  • Case has light/medium scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear. Remains of air bubbles in the metal can be seen.
  • Crown is rubbed and worn. It screws down but only has a turn or so of grip.
  • Case back has light/medium scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear. Remains of air bubbles in the metal can be seen. Gasket is very worn.
  • Bracelet has light/medium scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear. It is stretched with signs of twisting.
  • Clasp has light/medium scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear. There are signs of previous modification to improve closing. It shuts quite securely.
  • Bracelet measures approximately 17cm including case.
