A good mahogany box of army surgical instruments by S. Maw Son & Sons, the fitted interior with plush lining and concealed lower compartment, housing various medical instruments to include some hallmarked silver examples, the rectangular box with central shield cartouche engraved 'Instruments Operation', and inset trader's labels 'S. Maw Son & Sons', '7 to 12 Aldersgate St.', 17.5" x 3" x 7" (44.5cm x 8cm x 17.5cm), together with other various boxed syringes, etc.
