A late Victorian silver water jug.

Condition Report

A late Victorian silver hot water pot, the cylindrical body, with stylised acanthus leaf design and engraved crest of a thresher and wheat bundle and script ribbon 'Now Thus', raised on a foot rim, the inverted lip with wide spout and hinged lid, with boxwood handle and finial. Hallmarked London, 1896, maker's marks rubbed. Height measuring 8 inches (20 cm), gross weight 13.92 ozt (433.1 grams).

Purchasing information
    The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Height approximately 8 inches (20.2 cm). Crest shows slight wear. Hallmarks rubbed. Maker's marks very rubbed, possibly overstruck. Maker's mark possibly IC over IM. Discolouration to boxwood, small fine splits.
