Condition Report

A late Victorian 18ct gold opal and diamond ring. The three vari-shape opal cabochons, between old-cut diamond spacers, to the openwork gallery. Estimated total diamond weight 0.15ct. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1898. Weight 3.9gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition good. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear and age. Evidence of repair to the settings. Band off-round. The opals are well matched with a white body colour and good play-of-colour showing predominately green and blue hues. The opals show abrasion and scratches. The diamonds are bright, lively and well matched. Small light and dark inclusions can be seen under magnification. Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
