A pair of late 19th century small silver candlesticks.

Condition Report

A pair of late nineteenth century small silver candlesticks, each with a circular weighted base rising to a short baluster stem and vase shape socket with plain, fixed nozzle, and decorated throughout with foliate scrolls. Hallmarked London 1890 with maker's mark 'JG', also struck with the Foreign Mark. Height measures 4 3/4 inches (12 cm).

Purchasing information
    Both candlesticks display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use. Some minor dints, especially to the fixed nozzles, which are now a little out of shape. A few small holes in the embossed decoration. The hallmarks are clear and legible, one of the nozzles also bears part hallmarks, the other is unmarked. Replacement baize lining to the underside of both.
