Condition Report

A mid 20th century 18ct gold diamond five-stone ring. The graduated old-cut diamond line, to the tapered shoulders and plain band. Estimated total diamond weight 1.25cts, tinted colour, P1-P2 clarity. Weight 2.8gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear and light scratches in keeping with age and general wear.

  • Band with evidence of resize and repair. Light scratches to the back of the band. Evidence of repair to the settings, one outer diamond is at a slight angle within the setting.

  • Diamond fairly well matched. Obvious brown hues.

  • Principal diamond estimated weight 0.45ct. Significantly large inclusion to one side near the girdle, alongside further large inclusions, visible to the unaided eye. Fair to good condition with a large nick to the girdle. Durability may be further impaired.

  • Outer diamonds have scattered to large and surface reaching inclusions visible to the unaided eye. Outer diamonds in fair to good condition with some nicks.

  • Diamonds assessed within the limits of the mount.

  • Stamped 18ct. Ring size L1/2.
