Condition Report

A late Victorian 15ct gold split pearl and garnet dress ring. The three split pearls, with circular-shape garnet intervals, to the replacement near period scroll engraved band. Replacement band with Hallmarks for Birmingham. Weight 2.5gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. Significant scratches to the shoulders and wear to the scroll engraved detail. Dents visible to inner band.
  • Several settings are damaged with several claws deficient, garnets may need to be secured. Some gemstones are possible replacements.
  • Band slightly out of shape.
  • Split pearls vary in colour, visible blisters and blemishes.
  • The garnets are fairly well matched, visible abrasion with magnification.
