Condition Report

HEINRICH LEVINGER - a jugendstil silver, plique-a-jour enamel and pearl pendant. Designed as a semi-baroque pearl, suspended from an oval-shape mother-of-pearl panel with green and purple plique-a-jour enamel 'wing' sides, to the fancy-link surmount and chain. Pendant with maker's marks for Heinrich Levinger. Length of pendant 4.9cms. Length of chain 42cms. Total weight 7.9gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good to fair. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Replacement chain and chain surmount. Replacement pearl drop. Replacement sections appear a slightly different colour to the main panel.
  • Clasp to chain is broken, with replacement clasp tongue, ill-fitting, dents to clasp.
  • Reverse of main panel stamped Depose, 900, with maker's mark. Traces of gilt finish remain.
  • Plique-a-jour with tiny split pearls, three split pearls deficient, remaining split pearls show moderate wear/discolouration.
  • Plique-a-jour with few, fine cracks and some fine sliver chips.
  • Pearl untested. Varying split pearl, pearl and mother-of-pearl components with slightly varying colour and lustre.

  • Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
