Condition Report

A selection of three early 20th century gold gem-set bar brooches. To include a 15ct gold peridot and split pearl foliate brooch, a 15ct gold aquamarine brooch with scrolling sides, together with a demantoid garnet and diamond brooch. Lengths 5.4 to 3.8cms. Total weight 8.4gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • One base metal pin.
  • Peridot brooch with more noticeable dents.
  • Demantoid garnet section later addition to the bar, with soft solder visible.
  • Diamonds bright and well matched.
  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.05ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Demantoid garnets bright and well matched medium deep yellowish green hue. The peridot is a light yellowish green hue.

  • Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.

  • Stamped 15ct to two brooches. Replacement bar with stamp, worn illegible.
