Condition Report

An Edwardian 9ct gold garnet-topped doublet and diamond crescent brooch. The garnet-topped doublet graduated line, with diamond point double spacers, to the openwork gallery. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1905. Length 5.9cms. Weight 3.9gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Base metal pin and hinge.
  • Some wear to the textured openwork side.

  • Red stones are garnet-topped doublets.

  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Principle stone in poor condition with a significant chip which could effect durability. Other garnet-topped doublets in a good condtion with minor abrasions and nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
