An opal and diamond pendant.

Description

Condition Report

An early 20th century platinum and gold, opal and diamond pendant. The circular opal cabochon, to the diamond point foliate mount and tapered surmount. Length 2.6cms. Weight 2.3gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Soft solder repair to the surmount loop.
  • Diamonds relatively bright and well matched.
  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Unable to determine if opal is solid or triplet due to setting, no play of colour to reverse of cabochon.
  • Opal shows good play of colour, predominantly green, blue and orange hues.

  • Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
