Condition Report

ROLEX - a gentleman's Oyster Perpetual Datejust bracelet watch. Circa 1965. Stainless steel case with yellow metal fluted bezel. Reference 1601, serial 1242109. Signed automatic calibre 1570. Silvered dial with baton hour markers, date aperture to three. Fitted to an unsigned bi-colour bracelet with stainless steel folding clasp. 35mm.

Purchasing information
  • Movement is currently functioning.
  • Movement has scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear visible to the naked eye.
  • Dial appears to be in an average condition with some light marks and scratches when viewed under a 4x loupe.
  • Hands show marks and tarnishing with discolouration to the luminous paint.
  • Glass has noticeable scuffs and multiple scratches.
  • Case shows scratches, marks and dints. Evidence of potential previous repolishing, numbers appear to have been redefined at some point previously.
  • Crown is currently functioning correctly; the surface has light scratches and marking.
  • Bracelet has light scratches and some signs of light stretching to links.Bracelet screws do not unscrew in order to easily remove links.
  • Clasp is currently functioning and shows light scratches and marksClasp is incorrectly numbered for this bracelet and the numbering is of a poorer quality. This suggests that the bracelet and clasp are married up and not an original set. Clasp is possibly non-Rolex in origin.
  • Bracelet measures approximately 18cm including case.
