Condition Report

A mid 20th century diamond and gem-set brooch. The square-shape ruby and seed pearl line, with single-cut diamond pierced geometric bar sides, to the carved palmette rock crystal and kite-shape ruby terminals. Estimated total diamond weight 0.15ct. Length 3.6cms. Weight 4.6gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear, minor discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Rubies to rock crystal sections are in closed back settings, possibly foil back.
  • Rubies are a deep medium slightly purplish red hue, well saturated, with fair to good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Rubies are in fair condition with moderate abrasions, one with a small nick.

  • Rock crystal is frosted.
