A late 19th century 18ct gold enamel and paste brooch.

Condition Report

A late 19th century 18ct gold enamel and paste brooch. Designed as a series of partially scroll engraved loops, with overlaid blue enamel, oval-shape pink paste and cultured pearl highlights. Length 4.8cms. Weight 11.9gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Damage to several areas of enamel.
  • Soft solder visible to several areas where the brooch has been repaired/altered.
  • Brooch fitting appears to have been added/replaced at a later date.
  • Gas bubbles and conchoidal fractures visible to pink paste.
  • One pink paste is circular in shape and does not match.
  • The cultured pearls are drill beads and have been added at a later date.
