Condition Report

A mid-Victorian Irish silver double ended snuff box with military interest, the waisted and scalloped form engraved to each cover with the 4th Royal Lancashire Militia crest within scroll work borders, opening to a silver-gilt interior and mounted on a wooden plinth with presentation inscription. Hallmarked Dublin 1855, maker's mark JT. Maximum length inclusive of plinth 9 inches (23 cm). Presented to the mess of the 4th Royal Lancashire Light Infantry by Aquilla H. Kent and T. Byron Whitehead, Berwick-On-Tweed. 1855' Please see lot 176.
