A late 19th century gold sapphire and split pearl hinged bangle. The split pearl scrolling line, with raised scroll border, to the oval-shape sapphire sides and plain half-bangle. Foreign and French assay marks. Inner diameter 5.5cms. Weight 15.3gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- Several shallow dents visible to the bangle, discolouration where the gilding has worn.
- The split pearls are fairly well matched, blisters and blemishes visible with the unaided eye.
- Sapphires medium blue, moderate saturation of colour, typical inclusions visible with the unaided eye.
- Minor abrasion visible with magnification.
- Inner personal engraving reads 'a Mathilde Souvenir'.
- French shell remarking old production assay marks.
