Condition Report

A George III diamond and emerald memorial brooch. The marquise-shape brooch with central glazed sepia hair picture, with alternating emerald and diamond surround, and further rose-cut diamond to the top and personal inscription to the reverse. Pin AF. Length 3.5cms. Weight 6.8gms.

Purchasing information
    The overall condition of this lot is fair, with surface marks to the glass and metal in keeping with age and wear. There is some dirt and dust to the gem settings. The picture beneath the glass has some small metal elements which have come loose and are moving beneath the glass. The pin to the reverse is deficient. Inscription to reverse reads 'MV, Ob 30 July 1780 AE 80. HV Ob 20 Jan 1783 AE 60.'Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
