Condition Report

A mid 20th century platinum and gold, ruby and diamond dress ring. The cushion-shape ruby, within a graduated old-cut diamond collet quatrefoil and bi-colour scrolling foliate surround. Estimated total diamond weight 0.50ct. Ring size R. Weight 6gms.

  • Overall condition poor. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Replacement band, discolouration and pitting at shoulders.
  • One shoulder and part of gallery split.
  • Significant wear to the surround.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Ruby is a medium slightly purplish red hue, well saturated, with poor clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Ruby in poor condition with significant abrasions and nicks.

  • Replacement band with later bead sizers, ring size stated is approximate.
