Condition Report

A Belle Epoque platinum and gold, seed pearl and diamond velvet collar. Of openwork design, the seed pearl and rose-cut diamond floral motif with halo surround and similarly-set geometric sides, threaded on a red velvet collar. Imitation pearl replacements. Seed pearl deficient. French assay marks. Total length of panels 4.6cms. Total weight 9.5gms.

  • Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Three imitation pearl replacements.
  • One seed pearl deficient.
  • White glue visible to central motif, one diamond possibly deficient beneath the glue.
  • One side panel with repair, section deficient.
  • Diamonds bright and fairly well matched.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Seed pearls untested for natural origin.
