Condition Report

Three early 20th century and later amethyst and paste brooches. To include an early 20th century gold oval amethyst brooch with scrolling engraved surround, an early 20th century 9ct gold oval amethyst brooch, together with an octagonal purple paste brooch with rope-twist. Lengths 2.1 to 2.7cms. Weight 22.8gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.

  • Amethyst fairly bright medium purple, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Purple paste medium to dark purple, well saturated with good clarity.

  • Amethyst in good condition with minor abrasions.

  • Paste in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges, one corner has a more significant chip which can be seen with the naked eye.

  • One with a plaque to the reverse marked 375.
