Condition Report
A late Victorian 9ct gold ruby and diamond hinged bangle, circa 1880. Designed as a series of alternating circular-shape ruby and rose-cut diamonds, within a scroll and bead surround, to the gathered rope-twist sides and plain half-bangle. Later import marks for Birmingham, 1990. Inner diameter 5.9cms. Weight 12.7gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- Damage visible to one of the spheres, discolouration visible to some of the detail.
- Scuff and area of discolouration to the reverse of the bangle.
- Diamonds fairly well matched.
- Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Rubies medium dark red, moderate saturation, with typical inclusions visible with the unaided eye.
- Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Some abrasion visible to the table facet of one of the outer rubies.
