Condition Report

Two 18ct gold gem-set band rings. The first designed as circular-shape sapphire and old-cut diamond star-set line, the second designed as a circular-shape old-cut diamond with oval-shape ruby sides. Estimated total diamond weight 0.15ct. Hallmarks for London, 1977 and Chester, partially indistinct. Weight 9.6gms.

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Ruby and diamond ring band shows evidence of repair.
  • Diamonds fairly well matched.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • One diamond in sapphire and diamond ring with chip.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Sapphire medium blue, with visible colour zoning, fair clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Rubies medium pinkish red, fairly well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Ring sizes N and L 1/2.

  • Sapphire and diamond ring with hallmarks for London, 1977.
