Condition Report

A 1930s 9ct gold and enamel Mayoral badge. Designed as a vari-colour enamel coat of arms for Lytham St. Annes, with 'salus populi superma lex ribbon, suspended from a replacement tapered surmount and plain bar. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1929. Length 5.5cms. Total weight 27.5gms.

  • Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, and slight discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Replacement surmount and bar do not have hallmarks.
  • Enamel in good condition with light scratches and minor chipped areas.
  • Reverse engraving reads 'Mrs J Blackledge Mayoress, Lytham Saint Annes 1929-30'.
