A George III silver sauce boat by Hester Bateman, the plain oval form with scalloped rim, high scrolling handle and standing on three shell mounted hoof feet. Hallmarked Hester Bateman, London 1783. Part of a private collection of Hester Bateman silver.

    The sauce boat displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. A few splits to the scalloped rim. Probable repair to the join of the handle. Hallmarks worn but legible.
