Condition Report

A 1970s 18ct gold amethyst and diamond cluster ring. The oval-shape amethyst and single-cut diamond cluster, with openwork shoulders and plain band. Estimated total diamond weight 0.20ct. Hallmarks for London, 1977. Ring size L. Weight 6.6gms.

Purchasing information

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

  • Areas of yellowing to the band.

  • Diamonds fairly well matched.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Amethyst medium purple, fairly well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions/patchy colour visible with the unaided eye.

  • Stone in fair to poor condition with  abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Fairly significant chip visible leading from the girdle.
