A diamond, gem-set and enamel snake pendant, with chain.

Description

Condition Report

A diamond, gem-set and enamel pendant. The blue enamel scrolling snake with opal crest and diamond eyes, enclosing an octagonal-shape garnet, with garnet drop, diamond surmount and fancy-link chain. Length of pendant 4cms. Length of chain 37cms. Weight 9.5gms.

Purchasing information

  • Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

  • The pendant is composite, made of some antique and later components.


  • Snake has been re-enamelled.

  • Replacement gems.



  • Diamonds fairly bright and well matched.

  • Estimated total diamond weight less than 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Garnets are a purplish red hue, drop appears deeper than the central garnet.

  • Opal shows fair play of colour, chipped.

  • Stones in good to fair condition with minor to moderate abrasions.


  • Surmount is detachable.

  • Chain stamped 10k, Italy.
