Condition Report

A mid Victorian 15ct brooch with replacement early Victorian hand painted portrait. Of oval outline, the cannetille embellished surround, to the glazed centre panel with painted portrait of a gentleman with beard and ruff collar, a further vacant glazed panel to the reverse. Length 5.8cms. Weight 21.7gms.

    The condition of this lot is fair, with surface scratches, dents and scuffs to the glass and gold, consistent with age and wear. The glass has some visible scratches to both panels. The painted panel is a little smaller than the panel in which it sits.
