Condition Report

A Holbeinesque gold diamond, gem and enamel pendant. The oval opal cabochon and foil-back cushion-shape rubies, within a blue enamel, oval opal cabochon and old-cut diamond surround, suspending a similarly designed drop, to the cushion-shape ruby and blue and green enamel trefoil surmount. Estimated total diamond weight 0.50ct. Length of pendant 6.5cms. Length of chain 40cms. Weight 21.2gms.

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Replacement gemstones and diamonds.
  • Parts of the pendant have been re enamelled, specifically the blue surround and drop.
  • Some cracks and chips visible to the blue enamel of the drop.
  • Areas of abrasion and small chips visible to the red and green enamel surmount and adjoining link.
  • DiamondS fairly well matched.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • Some fairly significant chips visible to some diamonds with magnification.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Rubies well matched, with some typical inclusions, surface abrasion to the facet edges visible with magnification.
  • Opals fairly well matched, some surface scratches visible with magnification.
  • Some dents visible to the links of the chain.
  • Replacement later clasp and joining links.
