An early 20th century 15ct gold enamel and gem-set pendant, with chain.

Condition Report

An early 20th century 15ct gold enamel and gem-set pendant. The oval-shape amethyst, with black and white enamel border and split pearl surround, demantoid garnet and split pearl bow spacer, suspended from a split pearl surmount and later chain. Length of pendant 4.1cms. Length of chain 44.5cms. Total weight 14.9gms. This piece has the colours associated with the Suffragette movement.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Possible replacement enamel and gems.

  • Possible replacement surmount.

  • Chain links show evidence of repair.

  • Split pearls with slight yellowish white lustre.

  • Some split pearls show damage to the nacre, one split pearl in surmount has cracked.

  • Amethyst medium purple, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Chain stamped 9ct.
  • Surmount stamped 15ct.
