Copeland family provenance: a selection of 19th century bird-decorated plates

Copeland Family Provenance: a group of early 19th century Spode transfer-printed plates. Comprising three marching bird-decorated plates, decorated in differing colourways, one with painted number 3023, printed and impressed marks, inscribed A.G.C. 526 (for A. Gresham Copeland), the second A.G.C. 1262 additionally annotated "'Tumbledown Dick' pattern in rose on bright green background c.1825"; the third A.G.C. 597 A, with painted number 3175, all 8", (20.5cm) diameter; together with another Spode bird-decorated plate, painted number 3354, A.G.C. 1320; and seven further Spode plates, to include 'Bowpots' 2954 and 1869 (latter A.G.C. 1256), another chinoiserie vases pattern with gadrooned edge, two further in Imari colours, A.G.C. 745, and a pink floral example A.G.C. 734, largest 9", (23cm) diameter, (10).
