Condition Report

A late Victorian silver and gold, gem-set lyre brooch. The pave-set diamond lyre, with circular-shape sapphire highlights and pearls. Estimated total diamond weight 1.50cts. Length 4.2cms. Total weight 9.6gms. Pearls untested.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches, minor discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Slight bends to the pin.
  • Safety chain probable later addition/replacement.
  • Some possible replacement gems.
  • Diamonds bright and well matched.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Sapphires are a fairly well matched deep medium blue hue. Slight variation in tone and saturation.
  • Minor to moderate abrasion.
  • Pearls untested for natural origin.
  • Pearls vary in colour, fairly well matched in lustre.
