An early Victorian 15ct gold, paste, split pearl and gem cluster ring.

Description

Condition Report

An early Victorian 15ct gold, paste, split pearl and gem cluster ring. Designed as a central replacement rectangular red paste to the split pearl surround flanked by green gems, to the openwork shoulders and band with engraved decoration. Ring size M 1/2. Weight 2.3gms.

Please note: When placing absentee bids, your bids will be rounded up to the nearest bid increment. For more information click the 'Important Notices for Purchasers' button above.

Purchasing information
Overall fair to good condition, with moderate surface scratches. The central gem is a replacement. The top panel is possibly later added to the ring shank, although both pieces are believed to be of a similar age. There is minor abrasion to the green gems. There is adhesive slightly visible to the edges of two of the split pearls. Some of the split pearls may be replacements as they are a little small in their settings and slightly different colour hues.
