A late Victorian 15ct gold diamond brooch and a composite jewellery brooch.

Condition Report

A late Victorian 15ct gold diamond brooch and another brooch. The first designed as an old-cut diamond star with floral cannetille surrounds, the second designed as a split-pearl and turquoise highlight chain motif. Lengths 4.1 and 4.2cms. Total weight 8.2gms.

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

  • One brooch comprised of a section of expanding bracelet links affixed to straight bars and brooch fittings.

  • Diamond bright.

  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Turquoise bright to fairly bright blue, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical surface reaching dark coloured inclusions to some.

  • Split pearls creamy-white to yellowish-white, with some pinkish overtone and fair to muted lustre.

  • Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
