Condition Report
Two early 20th century gold gem-set bar brooches. The first designed as a circular-shape sapphire and old-cut diamond diamond line with asymmetric sides, the second designed as a pear-shape opal cabochon terminal to the plain bar. Lengths 6.2 and 7.2cms. Weight 6.7gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
- One has a base metal replacement pin.
- Sapphire medium blue, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.
- Diamonds well matched.
- Diamonds bright.
- Diamonds show light and dark coloured inclusions that can be seen easily under magnification.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Opal with dark body colour, and good play of colour, showing a range of hues including greens, blues, oranges and reds.
- Stones in good to fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.
