An early 20th century gem-set insect brooch. Designed as two flies with ruby and seed pearl bodies and split-pearl wings, with a knife-edge bar and split-pearl trefoil terminals. AF. Length 4.2cms. Weight 3.3gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.

  • Some split-pearls deficient.

  • Rubies medium purplish-red, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Split and seed pearls vary in appearance with silvery grey, creamy-white and white body colours and fair to muted lustre.

  • Gems in good to fair condition with minor abrasions and some small nibbles.

  • Stamped 15ct.
