Condition Report
A late Victorian gold diamond and gem-set insect brooch. The sapphire and conch pearl fly with ruby eyes and diamond wings, together with a pearl and diamond butterfly, to the pearl terminal pin. Length 6cms. Weight 4.2gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition fair to good. Minor surface scratches/wear and minor dents, in keeping with general age and wear.
- Bar is slightly bent out of shape but still fastens correctly.
- Shows noticeable discolouration and dark markings.
- Possible alterations and/or replacement gemstones.
- Diamonds fairly well matched.
- Diamonds fairly bright.
- Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Sapphire is a medium blue, well saturated, with good clarity, colour zoning and typical inclusions.
- Sapphire is in good condition with minor surface abrasions.
- Conch pearl is a pale pinkish colour with flame effect and some surface scratches.
- Seed pearls are a cream to grey colour with pink tints.
- Pearls untested for origin.
