A Georgian diamond, ruby and pearl brooch.

Condition Report

A Georgian diamond, ruby and pearl brooch. Of openwork design, the replacement baroque pearl, suspended from a rose-cut diamond vase issuing a rose-cut diamond and circular-shape ruby floral spray. AF. Length 6.1cms. Total weight 10.6gms. Pearl untested.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Alterations and repairs. Replacement gems. Later brooch fittings.
  • Two of the smaller diamonds deficient.
  • Diamonds appear mostly well matched.
  • The diamond comprising the 'vase' is foil backed and appears moderately tinted.
  • Smaller diamonds with some rough areas and small chips.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Rubies are a well matched moderately purplish red hue. One appears eye clean and may be synthetic, untested.
