A Japanese late Meiji Satsuma Koro.

Condition Report

A Japanese late Meiji period Satsuma Koro and cover, c. 1910, possibly Kyoto School in the manner of Kinkozan, the body of ovoid form with twin handles, raised upon three tapering feet, the dark blue ground with gilt foliate detail and two cartouche panels painted with cockerels, hens, chicks, and woodpigeons amongst blossoming trees, the domed cover terminating with foo dog finial (a/f), painted four character mark to base, 8.25" (21cm) high.

Purchasing information
    Cover has been badly cracked and reglued. Koro in good overall condition with some general wear, including crazing to the glaze, scratches and rubbing to detail.
