A ruby and diamond floral brooch.

Condition Report

A mid 20th century diamond and ruby brooch. The circular-shape ruby foliate spray, with vari-cut diamond openwork leaf and ribbon. Estimated total diamond weight 2cts. Length 6cms. Weight 17.6gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Significant alterations and areas of repair, areas of soft solder.
  • Believed to have once been from a larger item of jewellery, ruby section not original to diamond section.
  • Localised discolouration and evidence of repair near the clasp.
  • Pin bent.
  • Two diamonds deficient.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Rubies in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Not all rubies tested, some possibly synthetic.
