Condition Report

An Edwardian 9ct gold brooch, and a mid 20th century bangle. The brooch designed as a circular-shape red paste and split pearl cluster with foliate and rope-twist detail, the bangle with textured engraving and personal inscription reading 'Ethel'. Brooch with hallmarks for Birmingham, 1902. Length of brooch 4.7cms. Bangle inner diameter 6.5cms. Total weight 23gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • The brooch is in fair to good condition with minor discolouration and some surface scratches.
  • Brooch pin is slightly bent, clasp works correctly.
  • The bangle is in fair condition, very noticeably bent out of shape and obvious discolouration and dark blemish marks throughout.
  • Bangle has personal engraving, Ethel, From Frank, Xmas 1944.
  • Paste is a medium red, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical gas bubble inclusions.

  • Paste in good condition with minor surface abrasions.

  • Split pearls are cream colour, pink tints and minor surface scratches.
  • Pearls untested for natural origin.
  • Brooch stamped 375.
  • Bangle stamped 9CT.
  • Bangle inner diameter range 5.5 to 6.5cms, three different size fittings.
