Condition Report

An early 20th century 9ct gold garnet and diamond hinged bangle. The graduated oval-shape garnet line, with diamond point highlights and openwork hinged reverse. Hallmarks for Chester, 1911. Inner diameter 5.8cms. Weight 8.2gms.

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Claws worn, some deficient.

  • Central opal with noticeable chips and fractures to the bottoms of the stone.

  • Some gems possible replacements.

  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Garnets medium orangy red hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Stones in fair to poor condition with abrasion, and some chips to the girdle and facet edges.
