An early 20th century diamond and ruby butterfly brooch. Of openwork design, with cushion-shape ruby body, alternately set similarly-cut ruby and old-cut diamond line abdomen and similarly-set wings. Estimated total diamond weight 2.50 to 3cts. Length 4.5cms. Weight 17.5gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
- Diamond bright.
- Principal diamonds estimated I-J colour, SI-P1 clarity.
- Individual size and setting of smaller diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Ruby medium purplish red, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.
- Principal rub estimated dimensions 5 by 4.6mms, depth restricted by setting.
- Most rubies in good condition, few with abrasion and nicks, one significantly chipped.
