Condition Report

Two late Victorian 18ct gold diamond and gem-set rings. Comprising a ruby and diamond ring, together with a sapphire ring, each with scrolling sides. Both AF. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1898 and partially indistinct. Weight 4.8gms.

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Both with thinning, dents and wear to the band.
  • One with resize/repair, discolouration visible.
  • Each with one gem deficient.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Rubies are a well matched medium slightly purplish red hue.
