Condition Report

Three late Victorian and early 20th century 9ct gold gem-set brooches. To include a garnet brooch with scrolling sides, a garnet and split pearl floral wreath brooch, together with an amethyst and split pearl brooch. Amethyst brooch may be worn as a pendant. Lengths 2.9 to 4.8cms. Weight 11.9gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches, discolouration and small dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Scroll brooch with replacement base metal fittings, some associated dents.
  • Amethyst brooch with base metal pin.
  • Garnet wreath brooch with repair to the frame, soft solder and later bar visible.
  • Split pearls deficient to wreath brooch.
  • Garnets are deep slightly brownish red and reddish purple hues.
  • Amethyst are medium slightly pinkish purple hue.
  • Split pearls fairly well matched within each piece.
