Condition Report

A pair case pocket watch by I. Snelling. Yellow metal inner case, possibly hallmarked London 1798, silver gilt and tortoiseshell outer case with depiction of a neoclassical urn to case back. Signed key wind full plate fusee and chain movement with verge escapement, pierced balance cock, diamond end stone and square Egyptian pillars. White dial with Roman numeral hour markers. Outer case 49mm.

Purchasing information
  • Movement is currently functioning.
  • Movement has scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear visible to the naked eye.
  • Dial appears to have noticeable marks and scratches. Dial is completely loose and will require attention.
  • Hands show noticeable tarnishing, discolouration and signs of rust.
  • Glass has noticeable scuffs and multiple scratches.
  • Case shows significant scratching, obvious marking, some dents are present and some of the plating has lifted. Inner case tests as 21ct gold.
  • Hinges appear intact.
  • Crown has scratches and marks.
