A diamond and gem-set bird brooch.

Condition Report

A diamond and gem-set bird brooch. Designed as a swallow, with single-cut diamond wings and circular-shape ruby eye, to the woven nest and cultured pearl eggs. Estimated total diamond weight 0.15ct. Length 5.6cms. Weight 8.8gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Back pin slightly bent
  • Soft solder trace to the joint between the swallow and the nest.
  • Diamond bright.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Ruby medium to dark purplish red, fairly well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Cultured pearls with cream pearly luster, in good condition, with minor damage to the nacre.
  • Ruby in good condition with minor abrasion and nibbles to facet edges.
